Terms of Service

These Terms set out the rules for using AI Comprehensions.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AI Comprehensions (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users, including students, parents, tutors, teachers, and institutions.

2. About the Service

AI Comprehensions is an online educational platform providing:

  • AI-generated reading comprehension and writing exercises
  • Age-appropriate educational content
  • Progress tracking and analytics
  • Tools for tutors, parents, students, and schools

The Service is provided for educational support only.

No exam or admissions guarantee

We do not suggest or imply that use of the Service will result in:

  • passing any exam, assessment, or entrance test, or
  • acceptance into any school or institution.

Results depend on many factors outside our control.

3. Who We Are and How to Contact Us

AI Comprehensions is operated by Patrick Fordham (sole trader).

Contact

Email: patchfordham@gmail.com

We aim to respond within 48 hours on working days.

4. Accounts and Eligibility

To access certain features, you must create an account.

You agree to:

  • provide accurate and up-to-date information
  • keep login details secure and confidential
  • accept responsibility for all activity under your account
  • notify us promptly of unauthorised use

Age requirements

  • Users must be at least 13 to create an account.
  • Users under 13 may only use the Service with parental/guardian consent and supervision.
  • Parents, tutors, and schools remain responsible for safeguarding and supervision of child users.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly.

You must not:

  • use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • attempt to access systems, data, or accounts without permission
  • disrupt, damage, or interfere with the Service
  • upload or generate content that is abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate
  • harass or harm other users
  • reverse engineer, copy, scrape, or attempt to build a competing service using our platform or content

We may suspend or terminate accounts for breaches.

6. Subscriptions, No Resale, and Partnerships

End-user subscriptions only

Subscriptions are for end users (students/parents/tutors using the Service directly). Schools and tutors may not resell access to parents or other third parties.

Partnerships and collaboration

We may offer partnership schemes (for example: discounts, referral rewards, or institutional access) under separate written terms or programme rules. These do not grant resale rights unless explicitly stated.

7. Downloads and Worksheets (PDF Export)

The Service may allow you to download or export content (including PDFs/worksheets).

You may:

  • download and print materials for your personal use, tutoring sessions, or classroom use (as applicable), and
  • share materials with your own students/children where the account holder is supervising their learning.

You must not:

  • upload the materials to public websites, marketplaces, forums, or content libraries
  • distribute materials broadly (for example: selling, licensing, or “free resource packs”)
  • remove branding/watermarks or claim authorship of platform materials
  • use downloads to create a competing product or content bank

We may limit downloads, add watermarks, or adjust export features to prevent misuse.

8. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate educational content. You acknowledge that:

  • AI outputs may contain errors, omissions, or inappropriate phrasing
  • content should be reviewed by a responsible adult/educator before use
  • we do not guarantee accuracy or suitability for any particular curriculum, exam board, or school
  • you are responsible for how the content is used in practice

9. Privacy and Data Protection

Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Service, you consent to that processing.

10. Trials, Discounts, and Referral Programmes

We may offer free trials, discounts, and referral programmes from time to time.

Free trial

A free trial (for example, 1 month) may be offered to eligible users.

At the end of the trial, access may convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends (we will state the conversion mechanics clearly at sign-up).

Trials are limited to one per person/household/organisation unless we say otherwise.

Discounts

Discount codes may have limits (expiry dates, usage limits, eligibility requirements).

We may withdraw or change discounts at any time.

Referrals (tutors and schools)

Referral rewards apply only where a genuine new customer signs up through a valid referral method (for example, a tracked link or code).

Referral rewards are not permitted to be promoted via coupon sites, spam, paid ads using our brand, or misleading claims.

We can withhold or reverse referral rewards where we reasonably suspect fraud, misuse, or policy breaches.

Full referral terms may be published separately and are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11. Billing, Cancellation, and Refunds

Where paid subscriptions apply:

  • billing occurs on a recurring basis unless cancelled
  • you can cancel at any time through your account
  • cancellations stop future billing, but access usually continues until the end of the paid period
  • fees are non-refundable except where required by law

Digital content note: once you have accessed/downloaded digital content, your legal cancellation rights may be limited under the Consumer Contracts Regulations (where applicable).

12. Intellectual Property

The platform, software, branding, and original materials are owned by AI Comprehensions or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service in line with these Terms.

You retain ownership of content you create or upload, but you grant us a licence to host, store, and display that content solely to provide and improve the Service.

13. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

  • update features
  • change or discontinue parts of the Service
  • suspend access for maintenance or security reasons

14. Disclaimers and Liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • we exclude implied warranties
  • we are not liable for loss of academic results, admissions outcomes, or reliance on AI-generated content
  • we are not responsible for interruptions or issues caused by third-party services, devices, or internet connections

Nothing limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including fraud, or death/personal injury caused by negligence).

15. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access immediately if:

  • you breach these Terms
  • required by law or regulation
  • your use creates risk for users or the platform

On termination, your right to use the Service ends.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are published means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may bring claims in the courts of your home UK nation. If you are a business user, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
